server monitoring with customer access
Posted by madpato, 11-27-2009, 03:58 PM |
Well i didnt knew how to put a better title, the thing is, is out there a software for server monitoring like nagios that monitors other servers and give access to a customer to see only the health of his/her server and not all the server that are being monitored.
Like outsourcing the server monitoring stuff but with the option that the customer could see in a defined url the status of his server.
Any idea is appreciated, thank you.

You can do this in nagios. You can make separate login for users and add the serves to that certain user, so that when the user login, he can see only the servers added to his account.

Though there are numerous in-house solutions (like Nagios etc) most services offer a unique URL to view the health of a server (that is unique) so you could use something like Pingdom.com

We brought a servermojo reseller account. They have a plug in for whmcs - needs a bit of work but so far so good

zabbix looks good and it seems that you can add separate accounts for your users but I would recommend Nagios (high priority) OR Pingdom as people have said above.

I recommended to use Nagios. Its simple and easy to catchup.
