Domain name necessary?

| Technically, is it necessary to have a domain name associated with WHM in order to run it, or can I get a WHM reseller account and add all the domain names I want to host as normal cpanel accounts?

| No, you can actually access WHM via its IP address. At least, that's how it is done when you first get the machine.

| no domain name required to access WHM or a site for that matter if you reffer straight to the ip

| You need a domain if you have personlized name servers, their A records need to reside in the TLD's DNS zone.
