Posted by trysk, 03-04-2010, 08:05 AM Hello, I'm new here so I hope I'm posting this into the right section. I'm planning to setup a server to host Xen guest domains and I'm still thinking about what would be the best storage setup for this purpose. I'm deciding between 4xSATAII (RAID10) and 2xSAS 15k (RAID1). I'm not interested much in synthetic test numbers, that's why I'm posting here. My questions're directed at VPS providers with real world experience and I'm sure there're plenty of them at WHT. Please, could you help me by answering these questions: 1) Do you use SATA RAID10, SAS RAID1 or SAS RAID10? 2) How many VPSes are running on that setup? 3) Is it so so performance wise or are those HDDs coping with the load with no problems? Thanks in advance for your replies.
