Changed nameservers, but site is still loading from old server for some?

Hi, I have moved my sites to my new VPS. I changed the nameservers in my 123-reg and most have worked fine. However some people are still seeing the old site. I have spoke to the host (semi-managed) who noticed the appropriate DNS zone still contained the old nameservers (in WHM). So this was updaed a few days ago and although most are now seeing the new site my work location (SBS Network) is still loading the old site. The ISP is BT and the building next door also on BT now view the new site. But we don't. So I am puzzled? Could this by the SBS server or more DNS settings? Thanks chaps!

You should wait a little more.

Hello, Could you please do the following, 1) Clear your local DNS cache. 2) As a temporary solution, change the A record of this domain in old host to point to the new IP in its DNS , until the propagation is completed.

Well, I have cleared the DNS and the SBS server is seeing the correct site. The clients however are still pinging the old server despite this even after a flush?

How long has it been since the change in DNS? It can take anywhere from 36 to 72 hours for DNS changes to be totally in effect.

Yeap, most probably its can take 24-72 hours to propagate through the network. Wait 24-72 hours and contact your webhost if the problem persist.

Cracked it, the SBS server was seeing the new site as it was using the router as the DNS server. The clients were using the server as the DNS server, which needed the cache clearing manually. Does a Windows SBS server not refresh it's client DNS cache?

How long was there between changing it and finding that? It might have a 24 hour cache time

Yes, you just need to be a little more patient. DNS changes never happen as fast as we want them too. It is a very complex system including millions of machines world wide.
