Other times, you can check if a site is down from other tools like siteuptime, dnsreport, iptools, other remote traceroute or ping tools, proxies (like proxify.com) etc.
Creating a thread like "Innohosting down" is not the best for the host.

I use siteuptime or a proxy. In a way, it's publicity for the host- people are clicking the link to see if they can access it therefore the host is getting hits. I stayed around on the site for a while, before exiting- many people will do the same.

I'm not sure why a thread was even needed for this. You posted on our ad as well claiming we were down and even then I addressed you and told you no it was not, provided uptime stats, an alertra spot check and a ping result.
We were never down..
The uptime monitor for the server our main site is on:

That said, our website etc. are on a completely different server than that of our clients. We keep our own sites on its own server.
