[Help] VPS Down

Posted by finly, 01-23-2008, 02:08 PM
Hello Guys, Need your opinion about this (please see the attachment) : Server load 100% (and another 60%+) for 2 hours now... Any idea what happened? And what should I do, since my clients under the vps is yelling me now... I have contacted the support, and as usual, when server comes to down, the support is "down" too ................ I hide the provider name since I still respect them! I hope the provider (if read) this will not hide any more and gently out to take care the server Regards, QI Attached Images load_die.png (19.2 KB, 80 views)

No response even after 2 hours for a server down issue!! Its time for you to search another provider

Can you access the control panel? If so I would check and see what process is taxing your proc and kill it.

No at all... even can't access hypervm... They just replied me telling that they're having the DC reboot the box with 2GB of additional RAM because 4GB of RAM went bad.... Well, will wait again ....

Thank you D*m*tri. There has been some trouble on the Alpha node recently. Due to what I believe is a motherboard issue, but the DC tells me is a RAM issue - two of our Kingston 2GB DIMM's are causing kernel panics. The full Alpha node is now struggling on 4GB of RAM temporarily. Our technicians are aware of this issue, and clients have a choice of moving to our Dallas location or the Bravo node providing free slots are available. We are working on stabilizing alpha node, and hopefully getting 8GB of RAM in the box temporarily from the DC until we order our own DIMM's to replace them. Thank you for your continued patience. We are working with clients to have a stable solution individually, and if you need to switch locations, submit a ticket or email me.

Update, We've just installed a new kernel on the Alpha node and gave it a reboot. This should rule out most configuration issues. There is nothing running on the node besides the HyperVM panel. We've been monitoring processes as well to make sure everything stays within pretty standardized limits. So far, the node just came back online and we'll monitor it to rule out all configuration, kernel, and software issues.

Is there anyway to get my files in the server anymore? I didn't do backup before ... :'(

4 ways to access your file 1.) Your VPS control Panel 2.) your Hosting Control Panel (plesk or cpanel) 3.) FTP access (directly to each site you host) 4.) SSH access directly to the VPS

no_kernel_support_for_openvz_check_if_right_kernel, That message means the node isnt booted into the OpenVZ Kernel.

Posted by eclouds, 01-24-2008, 01:04 PM
I doubt the files are lost. Wait for them to boot in OpenVZ Kernel and back your files then.
