Help: Need GOOD+RELIABLE+MS SQL Windows hosting
Posted by obazavil, 11-29-2004, 02:38 PM |
Hi!
I have been reading for a week all threads about Windows servers (In linux was easier to find a good VPS). And still can't make my mind about a decent/responsible/fast/reliable windows hosting.
Ok.
I have been reselling for a while (2 years or so). I have been hosting only linux (cPanel).
Now, I need to offer hosting/developing in Windows (ASP.NET+ MS SQL), because ppl want that platform. I was trying to avoid messing with windows hosting but well, I'll need to have that for custom .NET projects to sell, and clients that ask me about windows hosting.
So, I basically need:
-Reliable: I'll have customers data in there, so, i don't need complains/bad reputation about they unable to access their pages/DB, and so on. This is a MUST
-GOOD support: In case There is a problem, Since I can't fix it myself, I need a VERY GOOD support to fix it ASAP.
-Good control panel. As long as is easy/powerful (like cPanel is in linux), I don't care what it is: Hsphere, helm, and so on.
-MS SQL Server
-Backups: To avoid losing data (or a way to do it myself)
I mean: i already have a reputation for my uptime/service with my clients... i don't want to put in trash all for a bad election in the Windows hosting.
Any recomendations?
thanks a lot!

300MB/20GB for US$40 transfer looks expensive IMHO, compared to other companies.
Also, they don't offer a reseller panel, just a % discount...

I really don't know, but what they raved about was the number of Databases on their servers versus the numbers on other providers. I think their deal is that they don't oversell and their servers are responsive and fast. That is why the developers like it
You are right they are expensive, never really looked at their costs much...
Sorry I only do linux (know linux also). I wish I could suggest others as well

obazavil,
The demand is increasing as more and more people are using the .NET framework, It is only a matter of time before everyone is offering both so you are ahead of the game!
Search the forums you will see that this same question is asked at least three or four times a week! All I can really recommend is that you fully test the company of choice and make sure they are responsive!

have you checked out diyhost.com or boundgrid.net both are great companies if the demand isnt that great a reseller account would work good...... and as far as that goes if your running linux and dont have a large customer base diy will migrate the current one over to there servers for free.

DIYHosting is a very dependable company. Their H-Sphere Reseller Plans with Dual OS Support are loaded with features. Sounds like DIYHosting is right up your alley!
