mp4 video streaming.

Hi friends, I have had ffmpeg installed on one my servers running websites with videos in it. Now the problem is that the video (which are .mp4 files) starts playing only after it has streaming completely to the end of the progress bar. It does not start playing right away. Until the progress bar is filled, the video screen would be black with a wheel rotating and it does not respond when 'play' button is clicked. ffmpeg + libx264 + libfaac, MP4Box. Any ideas? The webserver is apache. and its a 64-bit Centos 5 with php5.
