SMART errors

Can you help me translate what this means S.M.A.R.T Errors on /dev/sda From Command: /usr/sbin/smartctl -q errorsonly -H -l selftest -l error /dev/sda Please note the following marginal Attributes: ID# ATTRIBUTE_NAME FLAG VALUE WORST THRESH TYPE UPDATED WHEN_FAILED RAW_VALUE 190 Airflow_Temperature_Cel 0x0022 067 044 045 Old_age Always In_the_past 33 (0 3 43 33) ----END /dev/sda-- It seems to have something to do with temperature, but does this mean there is a problem with the hard drive and it's possible for the HD to crash soon?

There is nothing wrong with the higher current values if they are stable but if they are oscillating, you are running into problems. There are 2 tests (short and long) which can be performed to test the Hard Drive condition. You can perform the tests as well but it's always better to perform such tests via single-user mode. So have your Data Center perform these tests and see if the values stay stable, if not change the Hard Drive.

The listed SMART value indicates that the hard drive temperature rose to an abnormally high level some time in the past. For instance, the drive may have been in a server where the chassis fan stopped functioning, or in a room where the air conditioning failed for a period of time. As long as there are no critical errors on the drive (which it appears that there are not), you should be able to safely ignore this warning.
