Seeking Host
Posted by advancedhosted, 12-01-2004, 12:03 PM |
I'm looking for a host that offers Cpanel/WHM. I'm not looking to spend a whole lot since I currently only have 1 customer. I would like to be able to pay using paypal. If anyone can help me find a host that offers that it would be appreciated.

You could try using hostquote:

or check the offers forum here. Hosts cannot respond here in the forum to requests.

Most Linux hosts offer CPanel/WHM. So that should be fairly easy to find. Quite a few companies have staff members who post here regularly, so look around, check out a few hosts, narrow your list down to about 5 or so. Then test out the responsiveness of their support team by sending them a few questions before you sign up.

Unless you;'re lucky enough to have a cusotmer come here and recommend you his host that happens to fit your requirements exactly, the best approach is "hands on". It might take some time but it'll be the most effective. Use all possible means to make yourself a list of hosts with plans that fit your needs and send them emails. Reason? Some hosts accept paypal even though you won't find this info stated openly on their site. Emails should be responded promptly, thoroughly and politely.
Martie's link above, http://findmyhosting.com/advancedsearch.asp , and other directories with powerful search features should be of help in the list creating process. You could post some request threads at hosthideout.com, hostingdiscussion.com and other hosting forums as well.
Coming back to this forum to do searches for reviews on each company that still stands on your list is a must (my opinion at least). Google (or your favorite search engine) can help as well.
Your goal is to remain with some 3-5 hosts on your list. If you have trouble choosing "the one" for you, start a thread here to ask for more feedback about them. I recommend putting the host's names in the thread's title to attract their customers to your thread.
Good luck!

I think Dan has summarized the steps for you pretty well, in addition to that you can also look following to create a short list for you. http://www.webhostingtalk.com/forumd....php?forumid=4

These are all great recommendations but I would like to add one more.
Once you have made your list of hosts you should always fully test their support departments. By sending them an e-mail at different times of the day you will be able to get a feel for them and if they are going to not only be around when you need them but that they answer your questions accurately so that you can then pass that information to your clients!
Good Luck!

As long as you first follow the advice of the above wisdom, as you should, I believe you'll find 'A Small Orange' to impress you.
