Go to http://www.vip-hosting.com/support/cancel.php and fill out the form for reason why you want to cancel.

Sometimes, people throw around such strong words (without any hesitation), but often it turns out to be premature or completely unwarranted. Without any time frame, further details, or the other side of the story, this seems a bit harsh to call them "scammers".

I am not a customer of theirs, but their template costs seem to be clearly marked on their web site: http://www.vip-hosting.com/mtemplates/ Were you personally told you would get templates for free? If so, perhaps you can send to them a copy of the email where that was offered and ask for an explanation.

Its clearly mentioned on their site: http://www.vip-hosting.com/reseller/viptoolbox.php I hope I have understood right, it states "When you sign up as a reseller your new phone service is FREE" "**Sign up now as a New Reseller and Receive any Template FREE**"

With regard to the free toll-free number and the free Web site template, I spoke with Mark Carruba (the previous owner of the company) and found that you have to sign up, then sign up for the phone service, then buy the template. They will refund up to $150 for the template and every month of the phone service as long as you are with them. The service is $9.95 per month and the first two months are required up front. VIP-Hosting will credit you for this initial payment and the $9.95 each month thereafter. I don't know what problems you might have had getting a hold of them, but I have had none and I never wait on hold. I've called them several times over the last few weeks and I always get someone on the phone right away. Before you buy something, especially a hosting reseller account, it's best to call and talk to the sales reps. In the case of VIP-Hosting, the sales reps are also the tech support staff, so they are very helpful, including one of the current owners, who was more than happy to sit on the phone with me last Friday and talk about merchant accounts.

I agree with dmetzcher... I am pretty confident I will be going with VIP for my needs. While the information on the phone system and template is somewhat misleading at first glance, when you actually take the time to read the details, and give them a call or email, it is pretty clear. They offer some outstanding packages and features for a great price. You toss around the word scammer when in reality you simply did not read the details at all. I have tested both support hold times, support email response times, as well as sales email response times and all were very fast. Mark is still with VIP as the sales manager, and replies to sales emails personally and in a very prompt manner. There isnt much feedback on VIP here, and googling them doesnt turn up much either except the occational bad feedback from someone like this, who in all reality, isnt being treated badly, but was too quick to toss out some harsh words without fully understanding the situation. This just tells me that they must be doing things right if all I can find on them is "reviews" like this.

DigitalFusionOne, What has your experience been with VIP so far? I'm thinking of moving over and I'd like some testimonials. Thanks!

I actually took use of the 30 day money back option. Service there was a joke, it took two weeks to setup my account, and that was only because I was constantly nagging them. VIP is a joke. I am going to go over to hostnexus

Please keep us posted with regard to HostNexus.

thus far hostnexus has been pretty good, only two minor problelms so far. The first was that they didnt tell me what port to use for my mailserver, and even after opening a ticket for my email not working the only way it got fixed was because I was trying eveerything, and telnet'ed in and figured out which port was open. The second is that one of the moderators over at thier forums actually scolded me for replying to an old post that had some good information in it, and then proceeded to deleted the posts, and make my post say "in reference to" with a link to the old post. Kinda retarded considering it is a FORUM where u post and discuss things! Other than those two very minor issues I am extremely pleased with HN thus far, altho I do miss the automation and billing features of the HSphere control panel, the Plesk control panel is very user friendly. I think I just maybe staying with HN for quite a while.... only time will tell I guess.

Well, the mods are just customers as well - they don't work for or represent HostNexus and you are perfectly within your right to to complain to me or other HN staff on the forum. I apologise for him and will investigate if you like. But please don't be put off. Our forum is very active and it's a great resource frequented by many lovely and helpful people. Not sure about the mailserver issue - we use standard ports 25 & 26 for SMTP and 110 for POP. You shouldn't have to change anything in your mail client to get things working.

Laurence, I didnt really hold HN responsible for the forum thing, I was just relating my experience thus far. The mailserver really wasnt too big of an issue either, like I said, both were VERY MINOR issues, and I am extremely pleased with HN thus far. The speed with which my account was setup, how easy it was to get the ball rolling, the fact that you even have user support forums all adds up to a great service.
