Turnkey sites not working, email bouncing

Whats up with turnkey the sites turnkeyhosting.net and the site turnkeyresellers.com is useless. The billing form is not working either. Whats going on folks?

Works fine for me, next time try a spotcheck at alertra.com
|
Posted by wpow, 04-05-2005, 03:01 PM |
What do you get? I get one site thats not configured and another site that none of the links work and you cant login to the client area. Yes they both are serving so the spotcheck will say everything is ok but the sites are messed up.

If you're waiting for someone to suggest going to another host, I'll do it now. If you're waiting to be informed by competent personnel that the server is fixed, well that might take a while.

As I said working fine
|
Posted by minsight, 04-05-2005, 03:45 PM |
where working fine is defined as "appears, but has no functioning subpages and a bunch of stuff like 'Client Testemonials Go Here!'. Not to mention a non-functioning client login with an orange SUMBIT button."

I visited turnkeyhosting.net and was returned with this default cPanel page:
There is no website configured at this address.
You are seeing this page because there is nothing configured for the site you have requested. If you think you are seeing this page in error, please contact the site administrator or datacenter responsible for this site.
Seems like they're having problems of some sort.

To what I get out of it, they are changing their website around and something went wrong. I saw a new site in place of the old one earlier today before it started informing us that no site was configured at this address.

We were moving our main website to another server. turnkeyresellers.com is now back up and running. Our forums and helpdesk got no downtime at all and turnkeyhosting.net should be fixed very soon.
Thank you

Any Turnkey staff watching this post? If so let us know what is going on - everything - yep that's everything is down.
For hours and hours - please let us know what is happening....

Hi, I currently don't know exactly what happens but our local sysadmin is working on it.
I only know the server was under attack the night before and he could stop it. Maybe another stronger attack...
I'll keep you up to date as soon as I get some news, really sorry for this.

Are we gonna get any sort of expected time when the sites will be restored? It is now nearing 8 hours (that I am aware of) that the sites have been down, and thats the second time in a week that there has been an outage of more than 5 hours.
Wouldn't be as annoying if turnkey didn't host their own support / website on their own (down) servers. How are we supposed to know whats going on?!?

I found out from Tom the new router we just got replaced now has a failed power supply. I know Tom is working hard to get another power supply. We ordered 2 of these new routers, 1 came in just a few days ago and the other is probally a couple of days away. I will know in about an hour or so how soon until we can get another power supply in for the new router we received just a few days ago.

a couple of days ago there was i dunno im going to say 3 hours of down time 2 days ago there was 12 hours of down time as i write this there is no service for anyone (more downtime). does anyone know of any good host that does not have so much SH** going on but is setup just like turnkeyresellers.com ? higher costs is fine.

Update: The failed power supply is now being hand delivered and will be in the datacenter within the hour.
Also, we are going to give everybody affected 30 days of free service for all these issues.
In addition, the local vendor is going to have extra parts on hand for the event of a failure again.
Over the next week we will have a new router configuration. There will be 2 routers, 1 as the core router and the 2nd as a fail over in the event this happends again.

wow what is next? the line has failed.. here is the problem. we can think of infinite reasons/excuses/problems (whatever you want to call them) to come up with but is the problem(s) going to keep coming up like this and rendering everything useless and leaving me with customers/clients fed up with the bullsh**?

The server is running well.

It was definitely down - the site is monitored, I couldn't ping it, my mail was unavailable, it was unreachable through dnsstuff etc.
It is back now though, but there was a problem, definitely.

sites are as slow as a snail at the moment. constant time outs, taking 30 secs or so to load a page. PLEASE sort this out asap!

Yes, their main site is very slow. I know they'll be working seriously to fix their network problem.

I don't know is TKR bulls** around. If the new router power supply burn, then just put back the old router. They always blame on the hardware and the ISP. From hard disk problem to router...
TKR, are u buying OLD hardware to host your clients? Are you not paying your ISP, and your ISP unplug the point???? What is all your Sys Admin doing? You pay them to sit around???
I think all the resellers has zero clients by now.......
Poor TKR Resellers.......

i don't think so - this has been an ongoing problem since they switched severs about 10 days ago. in fact in the past 7 days i have had 26 hours of downtime, and the sites are as slow as ever, all we get promised is they will be fixed "soon" or "in the next couple of days everything will be upgraded". Of course, none of this has happened.

You can say *that* again ..

Any TKR Staff got any news - can't use their own forums as the site just won't load - toooooo slow and times out.
Pretty much may as well be down!!!!
Downtime is now days rather than hours.
Somebody please answer...

Well we finally found the root cause to all the problems. The network interface was configured to auto speed at full duplix. When the old router failed the new router was installed with 10 mb ports and half duplix. The server and the router was not talking very well in this configuration and really sorry it took this long to figure out. The speed was hard coded to 10 mb and half duplix. We also ordered some 1000 mb ports with full duplix so in the next couple of days once things cool down we will upgrade the ports on the router to gbit. Everything is now operational.

Hi Robert,
I think it is better for all your customer to leave you, and give you the free time to upgrade and improve your skills in the "Super" server. It will also save you $$$ by giving 30 days free for all your customers.
We'll come back to you after a YEAR. Hope by then you had finished upgrade your servers, and finished your training on your "Super" server.
For those new to Cpanel, I encourage you to sign-up with TurnkeyResellers.com, because you'll always get FREE 30 days, and by the time they stopped the FREE 30 days, your skill in Cpanel should be enough. Worth the $$$ for NEW comer...

All down AGAIN!!!!!
Anyone from TKR got any news...?
|
Posted by Yapluka, 04-22-2005, 07:26 AM |
All resellers were emailed yesterday. If you did set your contact email in your main reseller cpanel, you should have be warned about the provider performing some loop back test on the line.
The outage should not be long now.

Granted - I did get the email - but it was sent and arrived past midnight BST and the planned maintenance was only 12 hours after that!!!!
A tiny bit more notice would have got the message through more clearly and prevented any misunderstanding!!!!
With the poor performance of the last few weeks it's only natural that we will be a bit worried whenever we see our sites go down without knowing (or at least without sufficient time to check our emails!!!!)
Thanks anyway for replying so quickly!!!!

Sorry about that, our notice with Quest coming was not that much warning either. Just glad they came. I will get with Tom and find out the results as Quest should know what is wrong with there pipe by now.
