Windows Reseller Feedback (HostNexus vs AllManaged)

Posted by Merge, 04-27-2005, 12:49 PM
I'm looking for a Windows reseller to host a number of my client sites on. I'm not looking to become a host by any means, just a single location to host all of my clients websites and applications (we're a small design and development firm specializing in .NET solutions). I've been searching for a few days trying to narrow down available Windows resellers, and it seems a couple popular ones on these forums are: Host Nexus (hostnexusDOTcom) and AllManaged (allmanagedDOTcom) Based on these two Windows resellers, can anyone provide any information on past experience and service? - Are both of these companies legit in the services and software they offer? - Are they running fully licensed versions of MS SQL Server? - Any experience with their email services? Thank you in advance for any feedback you may be able to provide. Last edited by Merge; 04-27-2005 at 12:55 PM.

i'm on hostnexus windows shared. they are pretty good overall. but the email seems to have a delay to it as my business partner keeps mentioning that the email i sent him didn't reach him for at least an hour. doesn't happen all the time. they run full SQL Server. i would also look at diy.

I suspect you mean diyhosting.com. BTW, are you a customer of theirs?

Hi Merge, Have you considered a dual platform solution in order to accomodate both Linux and Windows (if the need arose). If this is something that may interest you, search around for h-sphere reseller providers - there are many good ones that can accomodate you....

Hi Cartika, Thanks for the suggestion, but I have zero need for anything but Windows hosting. I'm a Microsoft developer, and all solutions I build are Microsoft .NET technology based running on SQL Server. I'm really only looking for feedback on the services HostNexus and AllManaged provide, as well as past experiences whether good or bad to help in my decision. Thanks!

You may also want to look at: http://www.viux.com http://www.************.com http://www.frontpages-web-hosting.net for .net specific technologies and MSSQL server.

Even if you do not need Linux, the H-Sphere is a good solution for a reseller account, because you get email on a dedicated server, IIS and SQL on diferent servers, so overal performance is better.

And i think that allmanaged only offers MySQL databases.
