Pre-SSL Server?

I don't know what it would be called, so I don't know what to search for. Trying to work around the one IP per SSL host issue. Is there a server-type thing that manages all the SSL, certs, negotiation, encrypting and decrypting - then manages the unencrypted communications to a httpd (say, Apache with more than one virtual host)? (I did find this: NameBasedSSLVHostsWithSNI at apache.org's wiki, which sounds interesting.)

You can buy SSL certs that are good for multiple domains. That's all you need. Search for "multiple domain ssl cert". I have about 10 domains on the same IP using a multiple domain cert. The downside is everytime you add a new domain or remove one, you need a new cert generated. Most don't charge to add/remove though.

At what point do you discriminate domain#1 to pull files from public_html_folder#1?
