dear friends
i want to know about cos. offering hosting reselling services (with me as reseller) in india;
1. are anonymous facilities (private label etc. ) provided for resellers by reseller providers normally or are some providers offering better facilities?
2. how much support should i expect from my principal if i were to take up a. a reseller account b. colocation or dedicated? are there sites which offer downline (my) clients support?
3. control panel with rupee denomination (if u.s. or u.k. based) for indian local clients?
any other guidance on web hosting in india
thanks in advance
regards

There are many private lable web hosting companies in india. You can find lot in Google.
Most of the reseller hosting providers won't provider support for resellers cleints. If you go for co-location or dedicated, you will be responsible for managing your servers unless you go for managed dedicated servers.
I don't know any hosting control panel support billing in INR. If you go for billing system like modern bill, phpcoin, etc... you will be able to set INR as the currency.

hi sprint..
basically many resellers are there.. And i think only net4india,vsnl and rediff have dedicated servers india..
But usually all these indian servers are much costlier..
net4india gives reseller thing.. but u need to pay 10k in advance.
but i visited their office and talked to a tech support person and i was never impressed by his know how abt the cpanel and all those things.
More over i think they are not providing the linux servers eventhough they claim to be.
Databases will be a real prob with them, coz for each database u need to pay 2k extra which is 22 horrible ..
then better u go for some us hosts which are reliable and install and config phpcoin where u can give inr as denomination..
1 more thing ..i really wonder whether any indians will really check for denomination in INR and make a payment like tat..
I hope u need that only for billing.. and if thatz the reason u can use many softs avail in internet installed in ur server for billing..
bye

We do not have servers in India, all of our servers are here in the US (Miami).
We have a home office and staff in India, but not servers.

I just looked up the "deshiserv.com" site. The person who owns the domain is in Canada and the server is located in Dallas,TX.

Did you talk to our sales staff? We have alot of customers from India and many pay in INR by check or DD. Sales is available 24x7. Just give us a ring
As Stephen said, we have our servers in Florida, not India. We have offices both in India and in the US

dear yash stephen r2h devuser and hotneomatrix
thanks for the replies
"but i visited their office and talked to a tech support person and i was never impressed by his know how abt the cpanel and all those things."
naturally! you expected too much... their work, cpanel etc. just make the grade. nothing extended and nothing great. to my knowledge, no mentionable down time
"1 more thing ..i really wonder whether any indians will really check for denomination in INR and make a payment like tat.."
i think they do. it would give the look of a local company
"I hope u need that only for billing.. and if thatz the reason u can use many softs avail in internet installed in ur server for billing.."
can u just explain that?
thanks yash and stephen
but could you pl. comment on my queries 1,2 and 3?
i could pay by check or card. it is the frontend to billing resold customers which i want to know about; the private label and above all the down line suppot (which i presume u have)
i have not contacted ur staff here becos i was expecting some answers reg india based hosting; but if there may be limited scope for that, i could consider the other options.
meanwhile, kindly respond to my queries so that it can clarify your position on these aspects
dear r2h
will check webhosting.info and let u know here.
thank u all for your help

1) We provide complete anonymity and branding in our reseller packages
2) We offer support both to you and your customers. We are reachable 24x7x365 by phone, tickets or live chat
3) Our control panel (HSphere) supports multiple currencies including Rupee

dear yashji
thanks for promptly (really!!) answering my queries.
1. "(HSphere) supports multiple currencies including Rupee"
generally aware of that; but when the customer clicks 'buy now' will etc. will the link take to a gateway which i can choose (indian cr card clearing or check etc.)
flashwebhost said "I don't know any hosting control panel support billing in INR. If you go for billing system like modern bill, phpcoin, etc... you will be able to set INR as the currency.'"
does this tally with what u say?
2. would ur staff assist in this card payment link etc.. i am not too tech if u see what i mean.
i hope i am not troubling u
regards and thanks again

sprint, I must suggest you contact Jodohost directly for details regarding their services. WHT is not the place for extended presales communications.

dear ldcdc
regrets
anyway, i thought it would encourage other similar companies to reply to my requirements which still even yash has not answered. i expected other users to offer suggestions.
pl. let me know if i have to delete parts of the mesg

According to the rules of this forum, hosts may not post details about their services unless directly asked.
You posted nothing wrong, just that the discussion was heading in a not so good direction.
Thank you very much for your understanding.

1) Basically in HSphere you can set the value of Indian Rupee against the US dollar. The control panel would then convert the currency to US dollars and send the credit card details and the US dollar amount to your payment processor to have the customer's credit card charged. The Credit card company in the customer's country would finally adjust the amount in their local currency (i.e. Rupees) which they'd see in their CC statement. This of course is the procedure if you use a proper merchant account. Supported merchant accounts can be found here http://www.psoft.net/promo/merchants.html
If you instead use a Web Payment system instead of a merchant account, the converted US dollar amount would be sent to the Web payment system where the customer would see the US amount and he then could pay. The US dollar amount is automatically again converted to Indian Rupees and displayed in your CC statement by your CC company. You might be able to get the web payment system or a merchant account to directly display the amount or charge the amount in india rupees but the the gateway you choose must support Indian Rupees. Few do. For supported web payment gateways, visit same page (http://www.psoft.net/promo/merchants.html) but scroll down
2) Yes we could
I suggest you contact our sales team because its inappropriate for me to answer these on a public medium such as WHT
