Looking for quality reseller package
Posted by Johnburk, 06-23-2005, 01:20 PM |
Not looking for companies who are new
Not looking for parttime businesses
Not looking for 10 hours support a day
Not looking for a way to make fast money
Looking for professional staff
Looking for quality service
Looking for quality support
Looking for companies that understand business
Looking for companies that really do make backups
I am aware that quality comes with a price. Yet I am also aware that bad quality cost even more in the long term.
Looking for the best in the business that offers 1GB space / 10 GB Traffic and options to upgrade to bigger packages
Any suggestions?

RSHosting .com is my recommendation.
I began moving from exclusive Windows development and hosting to linux and php about 9 months ago, and searched around here and other forums for a good reputation for uptime and service. My window's hosting company was apparently out of the office on weekends.
Many of my clients are web development clients, and they have my cell phone number. I do not like phone calls I get when the server is down.
Following a recommendation on WHT and other forums, I checked out RSHosting and have been nothing but satisfied. 24 hours a day I get a response back on support questions, or posts in their customer forums.
The most amazing experience that happend to me was when I was attempting installation of an SSL certificate and had trouble. I contacted support with a few questions and in a few minutes I got answers to my questions and an offer to install it for me. This was at 3:00 AM.
They are top notch in my book.

Hello Johnburk,
There's several things you can do to ensure that you end up with a quality provider. Looks like you have already identified some key characteristics. Some of the proven reseller providers are dynamicnet, httpme and diyhosting...
Generally, good things to look for are various levels of redundancy and backup (Hardware RAID, local file structure and DB instances backup, off site disaster recovery), clustered environments (from the list I provided you, only httpme doesnt offer clustering).
Other things to consider are history and a companies proven ability to maintain and sustain excellent uptime averages. Alot of providers will have this information (collected from 3rd parties) published on their site.
Hope this helps and best of luck in your search...

So far I have put my eye on site5. I tested their response and it was fast. Also good offers and good reviews on WHT

Site5 is definately a good choice for a reseller account. I've seen good reviews for www.resellerzoom.com & www.hostingzoom.com (same company) too.
Thanks,

resellerzoom is a pretty new company and does not offer live chat on their site.

Hmm.. I think http://www.hostingzoom.com has Live Chat.
Thanks,

I find it strange when a company does not show its network status to the public
"You must be a registered member in order to view the network status"

this is good things that you say but this is important that how we reach to this results
for example "Looking for companies that understand business"
how we can underestand that a company underestand business

Good point. It's hard to put that into measurable terms. I guess you need to see the kind of business solutions the company offers as well as examples of professional business clients and maybe some testimonials from them. Note however, if a host takes long to provide such information though i wouldn't penalise them.
What John has requested are all realistic things. Basically looking for a decent host. Once you get passed all the new teenage start-ups (summer has started, it's the season for them to begin trying to make some extra cash), you should be ok in finding a good host.

I'm looking for reseller packages as well. From what I hear here on WHT, the resellerzoom and bliksemhosting are good. Also, elsewhere I've read good reviews about qualityhostonline.
